
Dr. Cheikh Anta Diop (December 29, 1923 – February 7, 1986) was a Senegalese historian, anthropologist, physicist, linguist, and political thinker whose research focused on African history, ancient civilizations, human origins, and the cultural unity of Africa. His interdisciplinary work challenged conventional accounts of African civilization and helped shape modern African-centered historical scholarship.
